Donations and Contributions

When you make a contribution to the Campaign, we collect your name, address, and contribution amount. This information is required by law and is used to:

  • Verify your eligibility to contribute under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (contributions may only be made by individuals who are residents of Ontario; corporations and trade unions are not permitted to contribute)

  • Ensure contributions remain within the legal limits set out under the Act

  • Issue you a receipt for your contribution

  • Maintain the financial records the Campaign is legally required to keep

Payment processing: Online contributions are processed by a third-party payment provider. The Campaign does not collect, view, or store your credit card or banking details at any time. Payment information is handled directly and securely by the payment processor in accordance with its own privacy policy and industry security standards.

Public disclosure: Under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the names and addresses of contributors whose total contributions exceed $100 are included in the candidate's financial statement, which becomes part of the public record filed with the City of Richmond Hill Clerk's Office.

Ineligible contributions: If a contribution is found to be ineligible or to exceed legal limits, it will be returned to the contributor or otherwise handled as required by the Act.

Email Communications

We only send email updates to individuals who have provided consent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time. We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Third-Party Services
